“Johann Sebastian Bach wrote concertos for various solo instruments and orchestra, as well as orchestral suites. Among the most famous of such works are his six Brandenburg Concertos, written in 1721 and dedicated to Christian Ludwig, Margrave of Brandenburg-Schwedt. Bach’s dedication is dated March 24, 1721. Thus it makes 300 years from the time they were composed,” says Mindaugas Bačkus, Artistic Director of the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra. To mark this anniversary he suggested performing all six Brandenburg Concertos in one concert. More information>>
