The educational programme “Rhythm Games” combines to art forms – music and theatre. The latter will be represented by actors Rugilė Latvėnaitė and Simonas Lunevičius whose performance will add playfulness, attractiveness and accessibility to this programme. Together with percussionist Ingrida Spalinskaitė-Kurienė, they will introduce percussion instruments and demonstrate their most prominent qualities.
The theme of the “Rhythm Games” revolves around changes of rhythm during the year when autumn comes after summer, then winter falls, and so forth. Rhythm is the basis of all music, thus by way of learning to play simple rhythms children are ushered into the wider world of sounds. They are encouraged to explore what sounds and rhythms can be heard in our everyday environment and in the nature throughout the year. Children will be encouraged to take active part in this programme by playing and acting themselves. Having tried various instruments and learned about rhythm, they are expected to make music themselves, develop a taste for and a better understanding of music.
This online event will feature the recording of concert held as part of the “Music of Changes” festival on October 6, 2020.
